HAZLEHURST MOVING FORWARD IN 2007
Folks comming home to Hazlehurst who have been away for awhile will find quite a few changes since their last visit.
For a trip down memory lane just walk down the brick streets to the old train depot which has been turned into a historical museum. After dark the streets are lit by old fashion lanterns which gives a magical glow to the area.
Inside the museum you will find the Hazlehurst Chamber of Commerce office which is open each day Monday thru Friday 8:00 to 5:00, also a Robert Johnson museum has been added, paying tribute to a Hazlehurst native blues singer.
You can sit and enjoy the scenery or wait for a train in the new amphitheater located beside the depot.
A new Super Wal-Mart is expected to open in early 2008. This will be a big boom to the economy.
The Hazlehurst Industrial Park will take on a new look this year with two new industries locating there in the near future.
